Summary:

A vacancy has arisen for a Regional Political Press Adviser to join the CCHQ press team. You will be responsible for delivering the Conservative Party’s communications strategy across the South West of England ahead of the next General Election.

Principal roles and accountabilities:

Providing political communications support across the region on behalf of the Conservative Party
Developing strong working relationships with journalists across the region
Developing and selling in stories to regional journalists
Providing media relations support to Members of Parliament and Prospective Parliamentary candidates
Assisting on Ministerial tours and visits

Capabilities and skills required:

Experience in a similar press role and/or a background in journalism
A degree at 2:1 or equivalent journalism qualification
Strong organisational skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Good IT skills
Excellent political judgement
Ability to work independently, often out of normal working hours
Experience in wider political roles desirable, but not essential
A commitment to the Conservative Party

You will also need to be flexible, as the working hours may at times be long and uncertain.

The KM Group's award-winning business editor Trevor Sturgess is retiring, and we need a first-rate journalist capable of filling his shoes.

The successful candidate will be equally confident writing for the web as for print as we look to develop our fast-growing online portfolio. They will also be expected to gather audio and video whilst building and managing our social media presence.

The role involves responsibility for editing kentbusiness.co.uk in addition to the monthly Kent Business supplement. The business editor will also be expected to contribute to KM Group's stable of paid-for weekly newspapers and kmfm radio stations.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced journalist to play a leading role in the continued growth and success of the KM Group. They will be responsible for sourcing news and managing the news agenda whilst also networking and developing contacts.

You must have experience at a similar level, working in an online and print environment plus knowledge of both the local and national economies.

There are exciting times ahead at The Bolton News and we are looking for a Health Reporter to join our expanding team. We want a dynamic reporter with bags of ideas, who will cut through the bureaucracy, hold the authorities to account and dig out the exclusives while keeping a close eye on local and national health issues. We recently had a series of exclusive stories about issues at The Royal Bolton Hospital that the national press and TV followed up. We want to continue that trend and we are also planning to introduce weekly health feature pages.

The Bolton News recently relocated to new offices within the busy town centre.

We are looking for an NCE qualified reporter with at least 12 months experience at senior level.
